Questions & Answers with Raymond Blanc
Below is a brief extract from a recent interview with Raymond Blanc about his fantastic new range under the Anolon Brand, Raymond Blanc by Anolon.
“To become a great chef, there are three vital
elements: a passion for food, quality ingredients
and high performance equipment. Working with
Anolon, I wanted to create a range that would
allow everyone - from the cooking novice to the
most experienced chef - to easily create exciting
food in their own home.”
Raymond Blanc OBE,
Chef-Patron,
Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons.
Q. First of all, a confession. I have two sets of Anolon pans, one with the metal handle and one with the rubber handle, and wondered if you knew of a cure for the addiction?
"I completely understand your addiction; you obviously have a passion for cooking and therefore require high performance equipment to help create exciting food. I also have many Anolon pans in my kitchen. In my opinion you can never have too many, but then I do more cooking than most!"
Q. Or should I just get the new pans?
"All Anolon pans carry a lifetime guarantee, so I suggest you continue adding to your impressive collection with the new Raymond Blanc by Anolon range. The new Anolon Cast Iron cookware is very stylish and comes in either black or white. I would try the casserole dish, which is perfect for slow cooking as cast iron retains heat exceptionally well."
Q. Why has Anolon released a new version of their pans?
Anolon wanted to create a new premium performance range, which encompasses several new lines in gourmet cookware such as stainless steel and cast iron. The range also includes high quality bakeware, precision knives, tools and gadgets.
"We have simply improved on perfection!"
Q. What is new about the latest line?
"In short it’s the superior product quality and professional expertise that have gone into creating the Raymond Blanc by Anolon range that make it new and exciting... The new Hard Anodised Clad is a made from stainless steel and hard anodised aluminium. Without getting too scientific it’s the combination of both - with an aluminium interior that makes this pan exceptional with unbeatable heat conductivity. As you can tell I’m as passionate about cookware as I am the food I create in it! The range also includes Stainless Steel ,hard anodised and Cast Iron cookware, which is a first for Anolon."
Q. Is buying a cheap pan a false economy?
"Yes, cheap pans will often buckle and warp and at best you’ll often only get a few years out of them. If you can it’s best to invest in high quality cookware - look for pans that carry a lifetime guarantee. That way you can be assured you won’t have to replace them."
